The Sulfur Isotope Laboratory at Brown
The Sulfur Isotope Laboratory at Brown
Welcome to SLAB! We are a collective of isotope geochemist that are seeking answers to the origin and evolution of the Earth, Moon, Mars, and beyond!
I am always looking for great students and postdocs to join my group! If you are interested in joining the group, feel free to reach out via email (slab@brown.edu) and we can discuss detailed project ideas.
Current research nodes tackle questions related the following:
(1) understanding the sulfur (and other volatile elements) cycle on the moon and its relationship to the evolution of the Moon's interior, surface, and atmosphere;
(2) characterizing the nature and origin of primordial and recycled sulfur sources erupted among Ocean Island Basalts and determining whether there are links to seismically imaged structures within Earth's deep interior;
(3) Placing constraints on the origin and evolution of sulfur on Mars;
(4) Understanding nebular chemistry and its role in the production of pre-biotic molecules.
