SLAB

The Sulfur Isotope Laboratory at Brown

Welcome to SLAB! Construction of SLAB is nearing completion and we will be installing instruments and equipment over the coming months. Although SLAB is a work in progress, I am still recruiting for my group! There are currently multiple projects to pursue and opportunities within SLAB for postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Generally, I am looking for lab group members to tackle questions related the following:

(1) understanding the sulfur (and other volatile elements) cycle on the moon and its relationship to the evolution of the Moon's interior, surface, and atmosphere

(2) characterizing the nature and origin of primordial and recycled sulfur sources erupted among Ocean Island Basalts and determining whether there are links to seismically imaged structures within Earth's deep interior.

Please feel free to reach out via email (slab@brown.edu) if you are interested and we can discuss detailed project ideas.
