Please take your Covid test on Tuesday morning at the hotel before attending the program.
You have been provided with a Flowflex Covid-19 test kit in your guest bag, but no instructions!
Because the kits were split up, you were not provided with the original manufacturer instructions needed to use the kit. Below are the instructions you should follow to use your test. You can either watch the video, or read the digital version of the manufacturer instructions.
Important: there is one important difference. We were unable to provide you all with the original box, which contains a hole that allows you to balance your test tube. Because of this, we highly recommend swabbing first before opening the tube, so that you don't have to find somewhere to balance the tube as you swab.
If you prefer to read the manufacturer instructions instead of watching a video, you can find those here.
Important: the same caveat above applies here. Because we were not able to provide you with the original box that provides you a place to balance you test tube, we highly recommend swabbing first before opening the tube, so that you don't have to find somewhere to balance the tube as you swab.
If your test is negative, congrats! Mask on up and come to campus.
If your test is positive, stay put and contact Shay Urbani at 650-302-2171 to discuss next steps for your trip.
If your test is faulty, contact the hotel's front desk for another test.
Participant Expectations
Event attendees, including visitors and guests, must comply with all University policies and protocols in place at the time of the event, including current University policy regarding face masks and coverings (see the University’s COVID-19 Campus Activity Status page for the current policy for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals available at: https://healthy.brown.edu/campus-activity-status).
Masking will be required, and we will ensure that masks are available to any participants who do not have one on each day.
If you are exhibiting symptoms in the days leading up to the Sandbox, we ask you to refrain from attending.
The Information Futures Lab will be providing the core group of participants with Covid tests on the morning of the first day of the Sandbox. Although not required in Brown University's protocols, we consider this a top priority as participants will be working closely together in a workshop-style environment.
Ensuring Participant Safety
To allow for social distancing for certain parts of the Sandbox's program, we are taking extra care to find larger spaces.
The event workshop spaces will have Corsi-Rosenthal air filters.
