In this First Year Seminar, students will delve into the fundamentals of data science, critically examine its history, and practice the art of effective data communication. The course will culminate in a practical application of data science in each student’s field of interest. Students will engage in hands-on activities such as exploring existing datasets and creating their own, while developing skills in data literacy, ethical analysis, and data visualization.
Open to students of all disciplines, no prior experience in data science or computing is required!
