Elie Hirschfeld '71, P'06, P'16, P'20

Brown Trustee Emeritus. President Class of 1971. NYU Law School '74, then practiced law at Milbank.com. Elie then joined his family real estate development firm Hirschfeld NYC and now serves as its President. Elie has a wonderful blended family with his physician-scientist wife Sarah. They have 9 children from prior marriage, a 10 year old son Jacob together and 3 grandchildren. Elie is an active collector of original art scenes of NYC, now on permanent exhibition at the N.-Y. Historical Society (search: Elie Historical at wsj.com). He serves on the Board of Heritage Abroad, is involved in other philanthropy and continues to enjoy triathlon and skiing. Elie notes that he loves Brown so much he funded the renovation of the Judaic Studies building at 163 George Street, now named Hirschfeld House (search Hirschfeld House at Brown.edu). Ever True.

Harry Watson. '71

Co-V.P. Communications. I started teaching American history at UNC in 1976 and have been there ever since. Margot and I married in 1977 and we have two children, Adam and Hannah, who both live in California. For many years I served as director of UNC's Center for the Study of the American South and edited its journal, Southern Cultures. My most recent book was Building the American Republic, Volume 1: A Narrative History to 1877 (University of Chicago Press, 2018). I enjoy teaching and have no firm retirement plans, but I know the time is coming.

Darrell D. Davidson '71

Co-Vice President Communications. Pathologist-Teacher at Indiana University School of Medicine. Living in Indianapolis, IN. Grew up in Dallas, TX, USA. Studied Chemistry and Psychology at Brown, and decided to pursue academic medicine. I met my wife in graduate school at Tulane in the Pharmacology Department. We were married 6 months before graduation, then spent 2 years in Los Angeles for General Surgery at UCLA, 2 years in Bethesda, Maryland as a Clinical Associate in the Surgery Branch, and 2 more years of General Surgery in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Then I changed direction. After 3 years of Anatomic Pathology residency and Cytopathology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, IU School of Medicine hired me. At age 40 we had a daughter and boy-girl twins in 2 ½ years. Our first “children” were dogs. We’ve had 3 Samoyeds or Nordic breeds continuously since Bethesda. Our human children are an accountant, an aspiring Egyptologist, and a medical student. dddavids@iupui.edu

Amleto A. Pucci '71

Member at Large, Webmaster. As ground-water hydrologist and environmental engineer, Amleto has been a researcher, professor, environmental health administrator, and consultant. His field work has been within the Mid-Atlantic Region. He now volunteers on water-supply and contamination projects with non-profits and NGOs, including 3rd-world projects (http://home.ptd.net/~amletopucci.) He and Mary are involved with community affairs. He sings baritone in three choruses, a Gilbert & Sullivan troupe, and is church cantor. Married 43-years, they live in a 220-year old farmhouse just an easy walk from the Delaware River in Erwinna, PA, where they raised two sons. Andrew, a school psychologist and ashtanga yoga teacher, lives in Phoenix; Jonathan, a recently discharged Marine captain, is married, lives in Richmond and enters law school this fall.
