Welcome to Brown Club Tennis! 🎾
Welcome to the new official website of Brown Club Tennis! BCT is a fun, competitive, and social outlet for tennis players on campus. We aim to provide tennis lovers with the opportunities to practice, compete in matches, and bond with fellow tennis enthusiasts as a part of our team. We are a co-ed team of approximately 30 men and women each. We compete annually in the USTA New England Section Championships, and we have made it to the National Championships in the past. We also schedule matches and tournaments with other colleges in RI or in surrounding states, usually once or twice a month.
Practices
We hold practices from 9pm-11pm at the indoor tennis courts of the Pizzitola Sports Center. We have all 4 courts to ourselves during practices. The typical practice consists of an hour of drills and an hour of match play. The men's and women's teams usually practice separately, twice a week each (Men: Monday & Thursday; Women: Tuesday & Sunday). We also hold weekly co-ed practices (Wednesdays).

Matches
We are part of the Tennis on Campus organization which is sponsored by the USTA. All the tournaments that are sponsored by the USTA are played using World Team Tennis format. This means that when we are matched up against another school, we compete in Men’s and Women’s Doubles, Men’s and Women’s Singles and Mixed Doubles. World Team Tennis is a method of competition that has become popular in the last several years. Billie Jean King engineered this format to encourage more crowd involvement and participation. We also schedule other matches independently of the USTA which may involve only the men’s team or the women’s team.
