Your Brown Club of Oregon is led by a group of devoted volunteers working to create a strong Brown alumni community in the Greater Portland area. We love hearing from our alumni – we're always open to new ideas, collaborations, event opportunities, and ways to promote and create community for Brown Alumni in the region.

My education at Brown was as enriching outside the classroom as it was inside. Brown afforded me opportunities to interact with incredible students and faculty and instilled in me the value of community service. I envision the Brown Club of Oregon and SW Washington to do the same for the Brown alumni community.

I loved the diversity of activities, people and interests that made up the Brown community. I was active on the school paper, serving as editor of The 'BDH', and then used that to have a career in journalism. I've interviewed Brown students for years and enjoy helping Brown alums stay connected here in our beautiful Pacific NW community.

Though my time at Brown was enriched by the outstanding teaching, the biggest impact on my personal intellectual and emotional growth came from my peers. My fellow Brunonians inspired me to grow, collaborate, and think differently to solve a problem. When I served as an alumni interviewer for 10+ years it was my goal to help shape future generations of Brunonians to foster this special community. As a Brown Club board member I am excited to put my energy into fostering the same special community for Brunonians of OR and southwest WA.
In memory of a former board president and amazing friend, Sam Blackman '98 we continue to preserve the original website.
