I am excited to teach this class, partly because my research focuses on nonlinear waves and partial differential waves (check out my personal website for details of what I work on).
Outside of work, I row out of Narragansett Boat Club on the Seekonk river (at the very end of Angell Street) and spent time with my partner Alice and our birds Gong Gong, Jojo, Noobie, and Reepicheep.
I'm a second year APMA graduate student, and if you just finished taking APMA 0350 with Becky this summer, you'll recognize me! I'm absolutely thrilled to continue TAing for this sequence.
During Zoom meetings you'll probably notice two posters behind me. One is of the United States; my goal is to visit all 50, but this has definitely been put on hold due to COVID-19. The other poster is a "100 Movies Bucket List", and I've been knocking out about a movie a week this summer.
G'day everyone. I'm a second year APMA graduate student from Sydney, Australia, working with Bjorn in the area of dynamical systems. Our focus at the moment is spatial dynamics: the study of the formation and stability of patterns in the solutions of PDEs. Think, for example, about the stripes on the coat of a tiger or vegetation patterns in arid desert. If you are interested in knowing more, feel free to ask me about it.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all, and I hope you enjoy the semester.
Hi all, I am thrilled to be working with everyone this semester! I am a senior concentrating in Applied Mathematics, and this will be my second semester as a UTA in the department and with Professor Sanstede. I took APMA 0360 a few semesters ago, and it remains one of my favorite courses.
Outside of the classroom, I am involved with a couple of different finance-focused and pre-professional clubs on campus, and love to spend time out on the golf course on weekends.
Hi everyone, I'm really looking forward to working with you all! I concentrate in Applied Math and am about to enter my senior year. I took APMA 360 a few years ago and it continues to be one of the most interesting courses I've taken so far. I also work as an APMA peer advisor and am always happy to talk about the concentration or future courses.
Usually on campus, I play on the Club Baseball team and various intramural ones as well, I always love playing, following, and talking about sports.
Hello, everyone! I am more than ecstatic to be working with Professor Sandstede this semester on the APMA 0360 team. I am a senior concentrating in Applied Mathematics and Economics and I am super passionate about making math accessible to all students. Feel free to reach out with any questions regarding the APMA-ECON concentration or about my experience taking APMA 0360 in the Fall of 2019 with Professor Maxey.
When I am not working on school I find myself playing anything Nintendo and watching old reruns of Nickelodeon shows. Also feel free to talk to me about these things!
Hey everyone! Working with you all this semester is very exciting and I'm delighted to be helping out! I'm a junior concentrating in Applied Math and Computer Science and I took APMA 0360 last year with Professor Maxey. I hope you have a fun time with this class!
I have recently discovered garden path sentences. Fun(classic) example: "The horse raced past the barn fell." Here's my attempt: "She orders fish and chips her fingernails." If you find any fun ones, please let me know!
Hi everyone, I am very excited to work with you all this semester! I am a senior double concentrating in Applied Math-Economics and Computer Science. I took APMA 0360 during the fall semester of my junior year with Professor Maxey and found it a particularly fun course.
Outside of school, I travel a lot and love exploring new restaurants. Feel free to ask me about great food in Providence!
