Welcome to 1st Grade!

Mrs. Stephan
1st Grade Teacher

Meet the Teacher

Hi! My name is Mrs. Stephan, and I am so excited to be your first grade teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures. I want to know ALL about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.

I grew up in Laura, Ohio, on a small farm with horses! I attended Milton-Union Schools from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. When I graduated from high school, I went to Wright State University where I majored in Elementary Education. I couldn’t wait to graduate and start teaching! Since then, I have also obtained my Master’s Degree and License in School Counseling from the University of Dayton. Although I have been a school counselor as well, my heart and passion has always been teaching!

My family and I are proud to live and be a part of the Brookville community. My husband, Jason is a graduate of Brookville Schools and is the new high school principal here at Brookville. We have two amazing kiddos! My daughter Lily is 13 and will be in seventh grade this fall! My son Jake is ten and will be entering fifth grade! They are so much fun, and they keep me busy! I have an English Bulldog named Rudy, who you will hear many stories about next year! You may even see us out for our nightly walk around the school.

I believe in the importance of a parent, student, and teacher team. I will refer to our classroom as a family and I look forward to getting to know each of the families that will join Room 219 this year! One of the most important aspects of my classroom is communication. I use ParentSquare frequently to post our weekly newsletter, homework assignments or due dates, and fun pictures from activities we complete in class!

I am looking forward to the best year yet!
