Health Services
In working with students and their families it is my goal to provide competent, compassionate, evidence based care.
Health Screening- Grades 5,7,9,and 11 will have their hearing and vision screened. Also, any student that is having difficulties in these areas may also be screened. If an area of concern is identified a referral letter will be sent to the parent/guardian with a recommendation to follow up with a physician.
Maintaining student health records- Immunizations records along with screening information for each student is kept up to date. Grade 7 is required to provide proof of a Tdap booster and the meningitis (MCV4) vaccine. Grade 12 is required to provide proof of a second meningitis (MCV4) vaccine.
Managing chronic conditions- Conditions such as asthma, seizures, diabetes, severe allergies, etc. are managed in collaboration with the student's physician, parent/guardian, and the student themselves.
Acute illnesses/injury- If students should fall ill or injure themselves while at school an assessment will take place followed by interventions and if deemed necessary the parent/guardian will be notified.
