Welcome to 8th Grade Math!

8th Grade Math
Math can be hard! My goal for you this year is to be a more confident, successful, math student. To do that we are going to focus on how to tackle math -by using our resources and learning how to problem solve. Don't be afraid to just start digging in. Math is harder than just looking at a problem and doing it in your head -you will have to put pencil to paper to figure things out.
I don't like homework either. Most of the time, students have enough time to finish their work in class but every student works at a different pace and we work BELL to BELL. IF there are corrections needed, or it just takes a little longer, then math might come home for homework. Students WILL have notes and examples in their math binders to help them. All of my class assessments are open note and calculators are allowed. Many assignments can be reworked to ensure learning is happening!
Students! Remember, when completing work at home, if you get stuck, just explain what exactly it is you don't get and I will give you credit for it being completed! Make sure you're using your notes to help or check for a video posted on google classroom that helps explain topics.
