Ask God to encourage us not to be discouraged, afraid or trembling, but to try our best to do the work, pray, and entrust our work with the Lord, even when things are difficult and when we do not know what the results will be.

The first lesson we learned is that how to overcome the obstacles and problems with faith. The second lesson is that by faith, we are able to walk on a path led by God without resources and power in our hands and that seemed inaccessible to us. In Exodus 14:14, God’s words are especially precious: The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Praise God who led and is leading us. May the Building Ministry become a ministry in which we, together and in unity, build HIS kingdom in BAC.
V. Pray for the opportunities we should grab to testify for the Lord:
December is not only a month to remember and celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus, but also a special opportunity for us to witness for those who have not been saved or not received HIS resurrected life. Please pray for the Evangelistic Meeting on Saturday, December 25, at 2 P.M. The Klema Worship team will use their music, and Pastor Louis Lam will share the great news. Let us come together in one heart to pray for our country, our church and ourselves, using the prayer written by a sister in our church.
Our merciful Lord, YOU set the heavens in place and let the sun and stars rotate in its orbit and shine upon what YOU had created; all the livestock, the birds, and all the wild animals filled the earth, the sky and the oceans; flowers, plants and trees, they live endlessly. All good things were made by YOU! Then YOU created mankind and place them in a good and rich place so that they could enjoy what YOU gave to them and manage what you have created!
We, however, were not content, because of sin, and lost our gracious heart, and forgot that we live in YOUR graciousness every day. We worked hard, relying on our health, strength, and brain power, became complacent with the richness that we earned through our hard work; then we continued to pursue to earn more, either in asset, or in knowledge, degree, reputation, power, etc. We are delighted with pursuing more, bettering others, and overpowering others, in order to affirm our own position and value!
We have seen the competitions among many countries in arms, economy, trade, science, etc. Affluent nations wantonly mine resources and kill wild animals in poor nations and enrich themselves from the exploitation of the cheap labors in those poor countries so that they could enjoy their over-abundant material lives. Our excessive consumption of the resources created serious environmental pollution and even took away the living habitats of many wild animals, some had become extinct or endangered. The harm we created to the nature is severe. However, we still do not realize the serious consequences that these problems will bring to us in the future. We even have the wishful thinking of developing another planet for us to dwell – another Tower of Babel!
Some centralized state powers oppressed their own people unjustly; Different countries have their own corrupt governments. They corrupted, took bribes, kept stability, etc, so that their people suffer oppression for freedom and justice; some poor ones even have to struggle for basis needs. The government officials in power do not use the power YOU gave to them to run the country in a good way, and utilize and distribute the resources unselfishly, and do not provide the need for their people!
In church, we have also seen what we have sinned against YOU. Some believers even lowered their heads and walked with the world. They departed from YOU. Sometimes we did not, with all our heart and all our mind, make YOU the focus of our worship. We still choose, based on our own taste, to listen to the sermons, to interact with other brothers and sisters. We may seek success in service of YOU but ignore your teaching: be humble, always rely on YOU, be holy, love other parts of Christ’s body with HIS heart, make HIM the head and function ourselves as a body part, make your church shine in the country, society, and region for YOUR name, influence positively to the society, and seek the common benefit of all mankind!
Self-center makes us to love ourselves more than love others, and wants ourselves to be better than others, or sometimes makes us to fear to give us all to YOU. We protect ourselves in our own way; we fight for what we think we deserve, and it is reasonable, sometimes we, maybe unintentionally, force our own will on others and ignore their thoughts and feelings, neglect their needs and difficulties. We sometimes offend others without even realizing it! We forget YOUR teaching, YOUR commands! YOU teach us to love YOU with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind, and love our neighbors as ourselves! We know this, but we do not live out the command, due to our own weakness. We sin against others and we sin against YOU! We confess that we have all sinned and we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God!
During this pandemic, we stay in shelter at our home. It is a chance that you gave us to reflect what we did wrong in the past! Today we return to YOU, fell at YOUR feet, humbly cry out for YOU, for YOUR mercy again, because YOUR love never changes, and we pray that YOU forgive us; we pray that you cleanse us with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, YOUR loving son, so that we return to YOUR embrace; we pray that in the coming days, we could stand up, even after we fall, because of YOU, and fear not and walk on the path that YOU prepared for us; we pray that YOU give us wisdom, courage and strength, to behave ourselves according to the truth. Lord, YOU will convoy us and give us peace, and YOU will lead us to the light where we could see YOU, experience YOU and receive the blessing that YOU are about to give us, so that we could testify for you in our lives, so that the blessing YOU give us will overflow to others around us and make them to be willing to, because of our good testimonies, listen to the gospel and receive YOUR salvation and receive YOUR life and blessing, and it will go on and on, so that the regions, the society, the country and the whole world will have more people come to YOU. We pray that YOU make the days to come not like the days when the virus and sin spread, but like the days when YOUR love and truth spread so that people will be awake and experience the peace, blessing and richness by living humbly in the Lord’s love and truth.
When facing a threat, one’s instinct is to protect himself and to fight back. However, these reactions will hinder us from becoming fellow travelers of others in needs. Let us ask God to help us to look on things of others and let this mind be in us just like in Christ Jesus.
Give thanks to the Lord who promised us to give us extra strength, grace and help so that we are able to become fellow travelers of others in need.

“Give thanks in all circumstances.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18a)
God expects HIS children to build an intimate relationship with HIM through praise, worship and prayers. When we come before God, either in praise, worship or prayers, giving thanks is an important part, because a grateful heart changes our attitude and view of things, teaches us that Christ is the Lord in our days. We need to march forward in giving thanks.
1. Give thanks to God not only for the rain and air HE gives to us so that we might have life, but also for the resurrected life HE gave to us so that we might have it more abundantly.
2. Give thanks to God for listening to our prayers. HE understands our situation and knows our needs because HE is in control of everything. Pray that God helps us affirm that HE is the Lord who holds yesterday, today and tomorrow, and HE is the only and true God who never changes.
3. Give thanks to God to let us learn the lesson, that is, to sacrifice our own freedom for the sake of benefiting others. Pray that God let us hear HIS command, that is, “Be still, and know that I am God.” and be willing to be close to HIM and trust in HIM.
4. Give thanks to God for those selfless medical workers who are willing to sacrifice without counting their own cost during this pandemic. Pray that God grants them extra protection and gives them physical, mental and spiritual strength and peace.
5. During the pandemic, we stay at home and have more time to spend with our family members. Although we face many difficulties and challenges, we give thanks to God for HIS blessing – HIS love helps us to love other, and out of the love flows the beautiful fruit it bore. The changes of our children and the improvement of familial relationship made us to have to praise God and give thanks to HIM!
6. The pandemic distanced us physically and the church paused all services. Give thanks to God for the advanced technologies HE provided so that we could continue to come together to worship HIM on Sundays, pray and look upon HIM, and conduct fellowship and bible study. Pray that God let us learn in a deeper way that “Church is my home” and help us to love this home more.
7. Give thanks to God for HIS abundant providence during this pandemic - our church does not suffer any financial crisis. Pray that God encourages us to be more relying on HIM in all that we need.
8. Give thanks to God for letting us learn how to care and encourage and support one another during this pandemic. Praise God that we received the “heart-warming actions” from others. Pray that God let us be willing to give back generously and share what we have.
9. Give thanks to God for arranging NYSTM team to hold a series of evangelical training and practices in June. Pray that God helps us grasp the opportunity to learn how to spread the gospel via telephone, text messages, and cellphone, and utilize the new technology to breakthrough the current limitation and continue to be salt and light.
