Budget Vision for Brooklin Elementary School

1. Strengthen Teaching & Learning

To ensure students receive high-quality, cohesive instruction, we will invest in a small discretionary fund that supports community vision projects and ongoing curriculum-mapping work. These investments allow educators and families to shape our school’s direction together while ensuring that curriculum remains aligned, current, and rigorous.

We will purchase supplemental ELA curriculum materials that reinforce foundational literacy skills across all grade levels.

We will support Pre-K programming for three-year-olds identified through Child Find by Child Development Services, laying the groundwork for early intervention and school readiness. By joining Cohort 3, Brooklin will participate in Early Childhood Special Education transition activities, professional development, and assistance provided by the DOE. 

2. Support People & Create Safe, Functional Learning Spaces

To maintain a healthy and safe school environment, we will provide a medical assistance stipend to acknowledge the added responsibilities carried by staff when the nurse is out. 

We will purchase new classroom furniture that is comfortable and flexible for one classroom to support instructional innovation, learning spaces and accessibility for all students. 

We will enhance custodial support by allocating funds for summer detailing, substitute custodial coverage, and contracted services when needed. 

3. Invest in Infrastructure & Ensure Long-Term Stability

To maintain our school grounds and keep them safe and functional, we will purchase a new mower and update needed plumbing fixtures throughout the building. These updates preserve the quality of our outdoor and indoor learning environments.

We will dedicate $500,000 to ongoing facilities improvements that ensure our school remains safe, efficient, and future-ready. 

Guest speakers will also be funded to expand student learning beyond the classroom and connect them with inspiring community partners.

To ensure long-term stability, we will maintain financial reserves for unexpected needs and prioritize spending that delivers direct, lasting benefits to students. By planning ahead, we protect our school from uncertainty and strengthen its capacity to serve children for years to come.
