About Me

Hi! My name is Renee Richardson and I am thrilled to be your child's Kindergarten teacher! As I am beginning my 25th year of teaching, this year embarks another new and exciting adventure as my 9th year in Kindergarten. I have previously taught first grade for 13 years and Second grade for 3 years. Having many years of teaching experience and knowledge combined with my love for learning will make for a wonderful experience for your child. My philosophy is to have a warm place of excited, engaged, and inquisitive learners. Being the first school experience for many, I want to provide a FUN learning environment that balances developmental play and academics. Teaching has always been a passion for me and I would hope that my students would also find that love for learning.

I'm originally from Southern NH and attended Plymouth State University to receive my BS in Childhood Studies and Psychology. In 2006, I received my MS in Elementary Education from WSCU. My teaching career began in a Catholic K-8 School in Lowell, MA teaching Second grade for three years.  When I married in 2002 and moved to CT, I was so fortunate to find a first grade position in Brookfield.  I absolutely fell in love with Center School and have found a whole new love for teaching.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending my time with my husband, two boys ages 19 and 15, and two energetic dogs! We love to travel and spend our summers with our long distance family or on the Cape.  I am a huge Boston sports fan with my favorite team being the Red Sox!
