The SPACES project: supporting mid-life women who would like to reduce their alcohol consumption.
Oxford Brookes University are looking for six women aged 40-65 to act in an advisory role for a new research project that focuses on supporting mid-life women who would like to reduce their alcohol consumption.
The project aims to develop a new package of materials (including a website and printed materials), integrating storytelling and behaviour change tools, to support alcohol reduction in mid-life women.
Who are we looking for?
· We are interested in hearing from women aged 40-65 who drink alcohol.
· You do not need to be considering changing your own alcohol consumption.
· We want to include people from a wide range of different backgrounds in our research.
What would being involved in the project entail?
The role involves attending up to eight one-hour meetings over a period of 15-months from October 2024. These meetings will be held online and you will be paid £25 for each meeting, plus £5 expenses.
You will work with researchers to help guide the research project. You will have input into how the project is managed and you will provide feedback on things like the information provided to participants. You will also help the research team to interpret the findings from the study and help to develop materials for a new tool to support women who would like to drink less alcohol.
