We want you to feel as prepared as possible before starting university, but we know that we all have different strengths and abilities, things to work on and worries about studying at a higher level.
For this reason, our expert team within the Centre for Academic Studies (headed up by Kevin Watson, from the launch webinar) have created an interactive resource for you to complete ahead of starting at university, based around the reflections on the expectations and realities experienced by current students.
Watch the videos from the project below, to get a flavour of what's on offer - you can find the link to the short course at the bottom of the page.
Now you've got a taster of what is included in this course, why not try the whole thing!
This is a short course, designed to give you the best possible start at Oxford Brookes by reflecting on the expectations and the realities of success at university.
Many students told us they wish they’d taken more time at the start of their university journey to reflect on what they wanted to get out of it. So we created this course to help you navigate the transition to university study and life.
The course is divided into four sections and ends with an evaluation. To get the most out of the experience, we recommend completing all four sections, which you can navigate through at the bottom of this page, or just click on the ‘start the course’ button on the link below. It should take around one hour and we hope it will leave you feeling well prepared to ‘head into Brookes.’
All the activities are fully accessible via a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
You can use the Menu panel on the left-hand side of the screen to get around the website. To access the Menu on a phone, click the three bars in the top-left corner of the screen.
