This is a PhD research project based at the Centre for Psychological Research at Oxford Brookes University, investigating music engagement across the lifespan.

This project aims to:

• Better understand the reasons why people listen to music across the lifespan and identify factors that may influence these reasons by comparing music engagement across different age groups.

• Investigate whether listening to a favourite song significantly affects mood and descriptions of identity in young adults compared to older adults.

• Investigate whether listening to a favourite song significantly affects mood and descriptions of identity in patients with brain injuries compared to healthy controls.
