Submit your Abstract
Abstracts of the presentations for the conference will be accepted until the 15th of January 2027.
In the 21st Century, play is a multi-disciplinary field of study. We welcome contributions from fields such as arts and the creative industries, anthropology, sociology, psychology, education, playwork, urban planning, history, philosophy, and beyond. This conference seeks to stimulate a multidisciplinary exchange of knowledge and experience, and abstracts are welcome from researchers studying play from any discipline. We welcome submissions from individuals and small groups, for both presentations and poster presentations.
Please give yourself plenty of time to draft an abstract. We recommend drafting your abstract offline; this will enable you to check English spelling and grammar and keep to the word limit of 300 words (excluding headings). While it may seem challenging, it is a tried and tested method that promotes high quality submissions and fair review of the research by both the Conference Committee and, later, by delegates deciding on what presentations to attend.
You should ensure that your Abstract includes the following headings:
- Theoretical frame
- Methodology and methods
- Ethics
- Key findings
- Implications for play policy or professional practice
You must address each heading adequately, in order for your abstract to be accepted.
