To become certified as Carbon Literate, you must take part in 8 hours worth of accredited learning, which will include completing an evidence of learning form.
Training includes:
1. Positive Futures Scenarios and Climate Justice
2. Climate Science and the matching high-impact climate solutions
3. Carbon calculation and individual action
4. Climate Change Mitigation: systems approach
Following successful completion of the 8-hour course and acceptance of your submitted evidence form (which you will complete during the sessions), you will be awarded an individualised Carbon Literacy certificate from the Carbon Literacy Project and a badge for LinkedIn/email signatures.

Friday 17 July 12:00 - 16:00 BST
(Both sessions must be attended for certification)
The cost is £15 per person - which each student needs to pay for individually
'Carbon Literacy Trust' is a charity, and this cost covers application processing and evidence checking, certificate production and supply. The university does not receive any of this money.
Payment is required to secure a place on the training.

The training will be delivered by Dr Karen Cripps (Associate Professor in Responsible Management and Leadership), who is a certified Carbon Literacy Facilitator. Below, you can see her certificate from when she was certified by the Carbon Literacy Project in 2020. This is the same certificate you will receive, and sets you up to begin delivering carbon literacy training yourself and with experience, gain certification as a facilitator!
