Curriculum Overview

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Block 5 in Year 5! As we move into this exciting part of the year, the children continue to grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity. This block provides wonderful opportunities for cross-curricular learning, with many subjects linking together through shared themes and big ideas.

We are also looking forward to our Year 5 Showcase, where pupils will celebrate and present their cross-curricular learning. This will be a special opportunity for children to share their knowledge, creativity, and achievements with you. Further details about the Showcase will be shared soon.

Block 5 promises to be both inspiring and meaningful as pupils connect their learning across subjects and prepare to showcase their achievements. We look forward to celebrating their hard work, creativity, and growth during our Year 5 Showcase.

Children have been allocated to either swimming or dance based on the preference indicated on the returned forms. Final allocations will be confirmed during Week 1 of Block 5.

Please note that pupils allocated to swimming are expected to participate fully in all sessions. If a child misses three swimming sessions, they will be reassigned to dance for the remainder of the term.
