Curriculum Overview

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Block 1 in Year 3! We are delighted to begin a new academic year and look forward to welcoming the children into their new learning journey. This first block will focus on helping pupils settle confidently into Year 3, develop positive learning habits and build strong relationships within our classroom community.

Throughout the block, children will be encouraged to become increasingly independent, responsible and curious learners. We will provide plenty of opportunities for discussion, collaboration, creativity and hands-on learning as the children develop their knowledge and skills across the curriculum.

A key focus this block will be helping children understand themselves as learners and members of our school community. We will encourage them to think about their choices, responsibilities and relationships with others, while developing the confidence to set goals and take pride in their learning.

As part of their activities this block, 3A and 3C will take part in swimming throughout the whole block, while 3B and 3D will take part in dancing. We hope the children will enjoy these opportunities to develop their skills, confidence and teamwork.
