EVENT OVERVIEW
The English Beach Sprint Regatta is a new event for the 2023 season, and is designed for both existing beach sprint rowers and those new to the format. The Regatta provides an essential early season racing opportunity for those with aspirations to race for the GB and/or Home Nations Beach Sprint Teams in the summer.
Â
We’ve been overwhelmed with the number of entries, which is fantastic to see. We expect this will be one of the biggest domestic Beach Sprint events to take place so far, which is great for this new and growing format of the sport.Â
Â
This has meant however we’ve had to make some adjustments to the racing format to accommodate everyone. Our main principle is to provide as much racing as possible, and therefore we’ve set the timetable and progression through the rounds to guarantee everyone a minimum of two races. Those who reach the latter stages are likely to get between 3-5 races through the day. As with everything Beach Sprints, all of this assumes the weather is in our favour, and we may have to adjust accordingly.
ELIGIBILITY
To race at the England Beach Sprint Regatta you must be a British Rowing member and hold a valid British Passport
To be eligible to enter the Under 19 (U19) category, Rowers must be born no earlier than 1 January 2005 and no later than 31 August 2007
Those who wish to make themselves eligible for selection for the GB CW1x, CM1x or CMix2x for the World Beach Games in Bali and World Finals in Italy are required to race at either this Regatta, the Welsh Championships, or the Scottish Regatta.Â
