British Rowing believe that the welfare and wellbeing of all participants are paramount, whether as competitors or as spectators and is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies with best practice and organisational requirements. It acknowledges that everyone, regardless of age, ability or disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, or socio-economic background, has equal rights to safety and protection and that special measures are required to protect children and young people and Adults at Risk.
At each event we will publish the name of the safeguarding lead and a number to call in case of any issues.

Current membership of British Rowing or Scottish Rowing is one of the minimum requirements for athletes to be eligible to take part.
Coaches involved with Beach Sprint activity are expected to maintain coaching membership of British Rowing or Scottish Rowing throughout the season.
Among other benefits, membership provides insurance when taking part in rowing or rowing-related activities as described in the links below. Coaches are responsible for keeping their membership up-to-date to provide this insurance cover.
