They used actions, emotions and expression to show how the characters act in the story and we were able to experience being in a forest setting while watching the play. We then got involved in a class woosh and acted out some key parts.

In English we have been learning some facts about William Shakespeare. We learnt that he was born in Stratford Upon Avon, he is a famous playwright and he also got the Globe Theatre built to perform his plays in. Have a look at some of our fact files we made.

In English& Drama we learnt about playing a role. We had the opportunity to create our own comic stories of A Midsummer Night’s Dream it was filled with soo much action ! We discussed some of the things we already knew about the characters and some of the things that happened to them in the play. We then thought of adjectives to describe how they might be feeling and finally got into groups and acted out key parts of the play.
In English& Drama we learnt about playing a role. We had the opportunity to create our own comic stories of A Midsummer Night’s Dream it was filled with soo much action ! We discussed some of the things we already knew about the characters and some of the things that happened to them in the play. We then thought of adjectives to describe how they might be feeling and finally got into groups and acted out key parts of the play.
In D&T we created a setting backdrop for Midsummer’s Night Dream. We had to familiarize ourselves with what a setting is, identify the purpose of it and then apply our knowledge to a wide range of settings. We used adjectives to describe these examples of settings showing clear differences between each one. Then, we looked at a day example of an enchanting setting and a night example of an enchanted setting. We identified the different colors that were created and used for these settings and also the methods that could have been used to create the colors featured within the settings. Using these enchanted forest images for inspiration, we then used A big box and colored paper to create our own setting for A Midsummer’s Night Dream we also used a range of other resources such as cotton pads, paint sponges, rocks, sticks and scrunched up paper to blend colors.

In Music we recapped what we learnt about settings and created music for the setting of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We had three groups for our music which were fairies, doom and the weather. Each group created music by shaking their instrument. We then challenged each other by changing the tempo of our music. At the end, we all played together while being conducted by a member of our class.

During philosophy we were learning to express our feelings and opinions. We reflected on our story ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and discussed how we felt about what the fairies did in the story and whether they did the right thing. We shared our opinions with our classmates.
In Art, we made puppets of the characters from The Midsummer Night’s Dream. We recalled who the characters were and discussed the features that each character had. We then made a plan on what our characters looked like and the materials we can use to make the puppets. Using the plan we made our puppets and we acted out the story in small groups.
