Shakespeare
Year 2 at Royal Wharf
To paraphrase William Shakespeare,
"All the school's a stage, and all the children are players"
Writing
Royal Wharf converted to a theatre for 3 weeks as we explored one of William Shakespeare's most famous plays.
To begin with, we came together as a year group for a whoosh of the story of the Tempest. We acted as different characters and features of the story.
In our Writing for the topic Shakespeare, we dramatised and re-wrote the part of the story Tempest when Prospero conjures up a ferocious storm which destroys the ship his rivals are travelling on.
Below is a video of some drama which the children took part in to re-create the scene on the ship in the storm!
Topic- History/Computing
We learnt all about the life of William Shakespeare and made our own websites.
Check out a few examples below!
Art
Inspired by our key text, 'The Tempest', we recreated 'The Great Wave of Kanagawa' by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. We used different media to create our own versions of his famous artwork.
