Arts Week

During Arts Week, the children in nursery were learning about colours and colour mixing. We recapped colour names through sorting, and learning the names of some interesting colour shades. 

The children read the stories: 'The Day the Crayons Quit' and 'Mixed', learning about colour mixing and how we could create our own colours by mixing the three primary colours and black and white. 

Our favourite activity was mixing colours with a partner. We used primary colours, just like in the story and rubbed our hands together to see what colour we get if we work together. 

We were also very excited about creating a t-shirt painting of our favourite book characters. The children worked very hard and looked at all the details of the character to copy their images and create a costume for World Book Day.
