Made4life

Year 6

During Made 4 Life, we participated in a wide variety of activities, as well as our regular school work, themed around keeping ourselves healthy in our minds, bodies and lifestyles.

Park Run

For our annual park run, we visited Barrier Park. We tried to complete as many laps of the park as we could, whether walking, jogging or running. At one kilometer per circuit, that made two, three, four or even FIVE kilometres of exercise. This pushed us to the limits of our fitness, which is a good thing.

Wheelchair Basketball

What a great time we had trying wheelchair basketball in our playground! We learnt about the opportunities for sportspeople and people our age who may have disabilities, and we got to be in their shoes - or their chairs - for a while. It certainly changes the game and team-work becomes more important than ever.

NSPCC Workshop

We were visited by Paul and Sarah from the NSPCC, who talked to us about standing up and speaking out! We discussed when keeping secrets - or surprises - is okay, and when it's not okay.

Cooking

We spent some time at Royal Wharf School learning to cook chicken fajitas.

The meal was a healthy choice that could be adapted for different palates and nutritional needs.

Some of us like our food spicy, and some like it plain!

But we all ate our fill - or took ours home, if fasting.

With food this good, why aren't we cooking dinner for our parents?
