My name is Chang... and I am a wildlife conservationist.

During our first week of school, we read Saving Sorya: Chang and the Sun Bear by Trang Nguyen.  Chang, the main character, befriends a Sun Bear named Sorya and vows to return Sorya to the wild, even though letting a friend go is never easy - even when it's the right thing to do. 

We studied the text carefully, finding definitions of new and exotic words and empathising with the characters on the journey they embark on throughout the story.
