A Better World

We started our topic by exploring all the ways in which water can be fun! We took part in lots of team games involving water and were even allowed to soak our teachers!

We learnt that not everyone has access to clean water. We made our own water filters to clean dirty water.

We learnt about the charity Water Aid, and how they help people around the world to access safe, clean drinking water.

We learned some of the features of persuasion and how powerful our voices can be in creating positive change! We looked at some examples of excellent speeches and discussed what makes a speech engaging to watch and listen to. We also had a speaker come in to school to teach us interesting facts that we could include in our speeches.

To celebrate all the amazing work we completed during our 'A Better World' topic, we held a 'Water Warriors' afternoon!

We displayed our work, participated in fundraising activities, dressed up in water themed outfits and performed the speeches we had written to our parents.
