Traveling Storytime

The FRC Traveling Storytime is offered for children enrolled in Edgewood Pre-K Academy, as well as all Kindergarten classrooms at Greene-Hills, South Side and West Bristol Schools. 

This program is funded by Barnes Foundation. It impacts approximately 545 children, ages 3-6 years. Once per school year, Bristol FRC staff visit each kindergarten class and every pre-K class at Edgewood (both morning and afternoon) providing an in-person literacy-themed presentation including a read-aloud story and a music and movement activity. Every student chooses a brand new book of their own to keep. 

In addition, a resource letter goes home to parents encouraging them to read every day, and sharing FREE Literacy support in the community, such as the locations of all of Bristol's Little Free libraries and available programs at both Bristol public library branches. Children are encouraged to go home and read their book to someone they love!
