If you don’t submit your work by the progress report deadline, it will be recorded as a zero
Students who are absent for any reason shall be allowed the opportunity to make up missed daily work without penalty according to the schedule in the BRISD Student Handbook 2026-2027. You are allowed one opportunity to redo any Major/Assessment grade for up to an 85 if:
You completed the original assignment on time, without late penalties.
You (not your parent) arrange for the retake/redo within 3 school days after the teacher hands back the original assignment or shares the grade with you in class.
You complete the reteach/remediation requirements determined by your teacher.
You will not be allowed to redo or retake minor/daily grades.
Your chance to prove mastery on an assignment ends at the conclusion of the corresponding nine weeks grading period.
You should be tracking your grades each week through your student portal to know where you stand in each class.
You can expect at least one grade per subject/course to be entered in the gradebook each week.
Assignments will be graded, entered into the gradebook, and feedback will be provided to you within 5 school days of the assignment due date.

Assignments are expected to be completed at the beginning of the next class.
Excellence in SCIENCE cannot be achieved without a certain amount of practice. Homework is a necessary part of this practice. Homework to science is like football practice to the big game. You cannot win the big game unless you practice! You cannot do science if you do not do your WORK! After each assignment, you may correct any problems that you missed. By doing this, you will correct your mistakes and learn before you take the test.
Your notebook should be kept neat and up-to-date, ready to be graded at any time. Your notebook will be graded on an individual basis at least once every nine weeks.
It should contain...
Table of Contents
Daily objectives
Class notes
Labs
