Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your Easter break. We are looking forward to another busy term with lots of learning activities planned for the summer term.
The summer term is looking as busy as spring term has been. Take a look at what has been happening in school since returning after Christmas.
Thank you for your continued support.
Y5/6 Residential
Children in years 5 and 6 visited Newby Wiske Hall in North Yorkshire for their school residential.
The children had a fantastic time taking part in activities such as the giant swing, rock climbing, sensory trail and survivor. On the final night they also took part in a silent disco which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
We are looking forward to the next Y5/6 Residential in June.
KS1 Trip to Magna
Children in KS1 enjoyed a visit to Magna to deepen their knowledge on Light and Space.
The children got to explore the Air, Fire, Earth and Water rooms and watched a presentation on Space where they learned all about our Solar System.
Red Nose Day
We helped raise money for Red Nose Day 2024 by encouraging children to come to school dressed 'red-to-toe'.
We managed to raise an amazing £216.16 for a fantastic cause.
Thank you for your continued support.
Choir
Children have been working really hard in the Choir after school club in preparation for the KS2 performance of 'Viking Thunder'.
We look forward to seeing the performance in school on Thursday 4th July.
FS2 Trip to The Butterfly House
Children in FS2 had a fantastic time visiting The Butterfly House.
The children had a workshop where they learnt about mini-beasts and they had the chance to hold different types of mini-beasts. They also got to explore and look at all of the different animals and insects!
First Aid Training
Before Easter, children had two days of First Aid training.
All of the children throughout school got to learn invaluable life skills and what to do if an emergency should arise.
Training included phoning the emergency services, CPR, allergic reactions, bandaging wounds and many other First Aid skills.
KS1 Reading Afternoons
Thank you to all of the parents/carers who have been able to attend reading afternoons with the children in KS1.
This has been really successful and we are looking forward to continuing this for the rest of the school year.
Attendance
It is really important that your child arrives at school on time and attends everyday. Just 15 minutes late per day is over 1 hour of lost learning.
Well done to all of the children who have achieved 100% attendance and have received their silver attendance badges. We hope to award plenty of gold attendance badges at the end of the Summer Term.
