Welcome back!
It is an absolute pleasure to welcome all our children back after Christmas. We are all rested and refreshed and ready for the new school term. Children across have attended plenty of educational visits, represented school in sporting events and helped raise plenty of money for various charities.
Hopefully, there will be more visits and activities to follow!
Harvest
Children throughout school enjoyed taking part in various Harvest celebrations.
Sarah from the Rivers Church Team delivered some great assemblies and workshops for children across school.
Thank you for all of the generous donations we received for Rotherham Foodbank.
KS1 Trip to Wentworth Woodhouse
KS1 visited Wentworth Woodhouse as part of their Geography lessons.
The children got to explore the grounds
Climbing Wall
Years 5 and 6 had a fantastic time experiencing the Climbing Wall before Christmas.
All of the children gained lots of confidence and attempted a variety of different walls. We also had a new school record set of xx:xx for the fastest climber up the wall!
Fundraising
We want to say a massive thank you for all of your donations towards the fundraisers we held throughout the Autumn Term.
You helped raise money for great causes, such as Children In Need, Save The Children Christmas Jumper Day and Sheffield Children's Snowflake Appeal.
Christingle
Foundation Stage 2 visited St. Mary's Church for the Christingle Service. They got to make their own Christingle ready for the service, and learnt all about Christingle at the service.
Winter Fayre
Thank you to everyone that came and supported the Winter Fayre.
All money raised went towards the school's Snowflake for Sheffield Children's Hospital Snowflake Appeal.
Charter Gold
In September, some children attended the Charter Gold Celebrations to receive our certificate for our reaccreditation from the Mayor of Rotherham.
We are so pleased to be awarded with Charter Gold again.
Sporting Success
We are so proud of our Year 5 and 6 Girls and Boys Hockey teams. Both teams played some fantastic games in their tournaments.
The boys team came second out of all of the Rotherham schools and have qualified for the South Yorkshire finals later on in the Spring Term.
Attendance
It is really important that your child arrives at school on time and attends everyday. Just 15 minutes late per day is over 1 hour of lost learning.
Well done to all of the children who were awarded bronze awards for the Autumn Term. We hope to award plenty of silver awards and more bronze awards in the Spring Term.
