My education:
Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Sociology - Bradley University 1999
Masters degree in Teaching and Leadership - Saint Xavier University 2009
English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement - University of Phoenix 2022
My 20+ years of experience with children include teaching in early childhood classrooms & childcare centers, tutoring privately & for a professional company, owning a licensed home daycare, working for an international high school exchange program, volunteering to teach English as a Second Language, and participating in many child-centered community events. I joined the Brimfield staff in 2006 and have felt at home from the very beginning.
Being a lifelong learner is very important to me. I became certified as a Level 1 Educator through Google for Education several years ago. I am always eager to incorporate technology into our day! I also trained in Trauma-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) for teachers and strive to continue to create a safe & loving classroom.
My husband, James, and I currently have 2 children at home. We also fostered 5 phenomenal children previously & hosted a high school foreign exchange student from Japan several years ago. We feel blessed to have been called Mom & Dad by so many!
Outside of school I am a Trustee of the Brimfield Public Library, President of the Peoria County Genealogical Society, Secretary of the Brimfield Education Association, and an avid gardener. I enjoy learning new things, traveling to new places, and being involved in our community.
