Welcome to Introduction to Business

Our Introduction to Business course offers students a comprehensive overview of the key concepts and principles that drive the world of business. This course covers a variety of topics, including banking and finance, the role of government, consumerism, credit, investment, and management. Students will also gain insight into the American economic system, corporate organization, and explore career paths in areas such as accounting, management, and related business fields. This course provides the foundation needed to understand the dynamic world of business and its impact on everyday life. 

Our guest speaker from gBETA Distillery Labs offered valuable insights into the world of startups and accelerator programs in the Greater Peoria area. As part of the nationally ranked gener8tor accelerator, gBETA helps early-stage companies with local roots by providing essential resources, all without fees or equity. The students gained practical knowledge on launching a business and learned important factors to consider for achieving success. 

During our recent business tour to The Cinnamon Tree Farm, students gained valuable insights into the various branches of a family-owned business. They explored the key elements that contribute to the success and growth of a small business, including the importance of community engagement, and adapting to market needs. The hands-on experience allowed students to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications, offering a deeper understanding of what it takes to run a thriving, family-operated business.
