Mrs. Kaselyn Gibbs is the Brimfield Grade School music teacher, teaching our pre-k through eighth grade students. She also directs the high school musicals and conducts the high school choir. Mrs. Gibbs received her Bachelor of Music Education from Western Illinois University in 2017 and her Master of Music in Music Education from Kent State University in 2022. She is also Level 1 certified in the Orff Schulwerk approach. Mrs. Gibbs has been teaching at Brimfield since 2019.
When she is not at school, Mrs. Gibbs participates in local community theatre, and enjoys reading mystery books, watching comedy series, and spending time with her family.
Mr. Jared Johnson teaches 5th-12th band at Brimfield Grade School and Brimfield High School. He teaches private brass lessons at Kidder Music in Peoria and has his own trumpet studio. Mr. Johnson graduated from Western Illinois University in 2024 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. He was been teaching at Brimfield since January or 2025.
Mr. Johnson plays trumpet regularly for a number of musical groups in the Central Illinois region, including the Entropy Jazz Orchestra, Rooftop Big Band, Peoria Municipal Band, Elmwood Municipal Band, ARCLight Theater Productions, and substitutes for many others.
Outside of teaching, Mr. Johnson is a huge movie and TV show fan. He enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as seeing live rock and jazz concerts.
