The Brig O'Turk is situated in the heart of Trossachs. Whilst it is only around five miles away from Aberfoyle and Callander (on either end of the road!), the surrounding hills and lochs provides a sense of remote Scottish countryside that really entices you to the village. To the east of the village is Loch Venacher and to the west Loch Achray. Whilst Ben A'an, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi all loom in the background and although they may be wee compared to the munros, their sense of presence and beauty is outstanding.

Brig O'Turk has always attracted people from far and wide and can boast amongst its visitors Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, John Everett Millias, John Ruskin, Effie Gray and William and Dorothy Wordsworth. One of waterfalls in Glen Finglas estate is where Ruskin had his portrait painted by Millias and the Ruskin Viewpoint is now a great attraction of many who come to the village. There are many walks in the area, some of the most popular are: Little Druim Wood, Lendrick Hill (this description takes you back to the carpark by going up the boardwalks, however if you go through the village, you pass a great Tearoom!), the Meall circuit, Loch Venachar circuit and Loch Venachar forestry walk.

The area is also a haven for cyclists and routes around here have something for cycling enthusiasts at all levels. Again the Meall circuit is popular, as are the Lochs and Glens Way, Loch Venachar Circuit and the Duke's Pass. There are many E-biking routes in the area and Gravelfoyle will be opening in Spring 2021.

If you are looking for something a bit different In Your Element offer a host of amazing outdoor activities across the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, including: canoeing, gorge walking, archery, axe throwing, stand up paddle boarding, highland games and land and water based treasures hunts. The Brig o'Turk Discovery gorge walk and the Brig O'Turk Adrenaline gorge walk take place just a few minutes walk from the Brig O'Turk Tearoom, so after your walk you can always warm up with a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake!
