For students with Resource Services

• I meet with most students on Monday where we focus on goal work aligned to student's class lessons. 

• I also push into classrooms Tuesday-Friday during your child's whole group and small group lessons. This means that I join your child in their virtual classroom to provide the support they need. 

• I collaborate with your child's teacher to support with accommodations and differentiation of instruction. 

• I send virtual activities for your child that are individualized to build on your child's skills. Please have your child complete these, as this will help with practicing for their IEP goals and build skills in their classroom. 

IEP Meetings

•  If your child has an IEP, we will meet annually to discuss your child's progress on their goals; however, this is an on-going process, so please feel free to connect with me to better understand your child's progress throughout the year. 

• During school closures, we will hold all IEPs virtually either through zoom meetings or phone calls. When not in emergency school closures, we hold all IEPs in person or through phone meetings. 

• For triennial meetings, at the moment we will not be holding formal evaluations; however, we will be doing a record review of your child's progress and when we come back to school, we will start formal evaluations. 

Evaluation process

•  During school closures, if you suspect that your child needs special education services. Please bring it up to their teacher. We will try several interventions first to see if that will support your child. 

• After 6 weeks of attempting the intervention, we will come together as a team to see if further interventions are needed. 

• If all interventions are not supportive enough for your child, then we will discuss a future for evaluation. 

• At this time during school closures, we will not be having formal evaluations done. But, we will review your child's needs and when we come back to campus, we will start the evaluation process. 

Service Providers

•  If your child is receiving services such as speech, occupational therapy, adaptive physical education, Physical Therapy, then your child's service provider was in contact with you to schedule meeting times during distance learning.

Para estudiantes con servicios de recursos

Me reúno con la mayoría de los estudiantes el lunes donde nos enfocamos en el trabajo de metas alineado con las lecciones de clase de los estudiantes.

También entro en las aulas de martes a viernes durante las lecciones de grupo completo y de grupos pequeños de su hijo. Esto significa que me uno a su hijo en su aula virtual para brindarle el apoyo que necesita.

Colaboro con el maestro de su hijo para apoyar las adaptaciones y la diferenciación de la instrucción.

Envío actividades virtuales para su hijo que están individualizadas para desarrollar las habilidades de su hijo. Por favor, pídale a su hijo que las complete, ya que esto le ayudará a practicar sus metas del IEP y desarrollar habilidades en su salón de clases.

Reuniones del IEP

 Si su hijo tiene un IEP, nos reuniremos anualmente para discutir el progreso de su hijo en sus metas; sin embargo, este es un proceso continuo, así que no dude en comunicarse conmigo para comprender mejor el progreso de su hijo durante el año.

Durante el cierre de las escuelas, realizaremos todos los IEP virtualmente, ya sea a través de reuniones de zoom o llamadas telefónicas. Cuando no hay cierres escolares de emergencia, llevamos a cabo todos los IEP en persona o mediante reuniones telefónicas.

Para las reuniones trienales, por el momento no realizaremos evaluaciones formales; sin embargo, haremos una revisión de registros del progreso de su hijo y cuando regresemos a la escuela, comenzaremos evaluaciones formales.

Proceso de evaluación

 Durante el cierre de la escuela, si sospecha que su hijo necesita servicios de educación especial. Por favor, dígaselo a su maestro. Primero intentaremos varias intervenciones para ver si eso ayudará a su hijo.

Después de 6 semanas de intentar la intervención, nos reuniremos como equipo para ver si se necesitan más intervenciones.

Si todas las intervenciones no brindan suficiente apoyo a su hijo, discutiremos un futuro para su evaluación.

En este momento durante el cierre de las escuelas, no se realizarán evaluaciones formales. Pero revisaremos las necesidades de su hijo y cuando regresemos al campus, comenzaremos el proceso de evaluación.

Proveedores de servicio

 Si su hijo recibe servicios como terapia del habla, terapia ocupacional, educación física adaptativa, fisioterapia, entonces el proveedor de servicios de su hijo se puso en contacto con usted para programar horarios de reunión durante el aprendizaje a distancia.
