Simply Spanish

Bienvenidos! Welcome! Please use this website to see what we are up to in the classroom. I am always adding new content, so check back often!

We do a brief "Calendar Time" at the beginning of each class. We go over days and months of the year, numbers, weather, track the monarchs on our map and more. We also sing songs, go over the Spanish phrase of the week and talk about how everyone is feeling. It's great for reviewing and keeping current what they've learned throughout the year.

When the students first enter the room they need to answer the question of the day. It varies and generally goes along with whatever we are currently working on. They move their name tag to whichever answer applies to them. This was the first week, so it was a very simple question. It's always written in Spanish and is a great way to review, and learn some new words. They usually work together to figure out what the question is asking.

Some questions they will see are:

What color are your eyes?

Do you have a cat?

Did you play soccer yesterday?

Having fun learning the colors in Spanish!

We will track the migration of the monarch butterfly and learn interesting facts along the way. Check out the butterfly page under "Themes" on this site to learn more.
