Spanish 1

Spanish 1 is an introductory course for students with little or no background in the Spanish language. The goal of this course is to help students develop the ability to communicate in Spanish and understand basic Spanish, as well as foster an understanding and appreciation of the diversity of the Spanish-speaking cultures of the world. A strong emphasis is placed on using the language in practical situations, while also helping students to grasp the basics of the Spanish grammar, syntax, morphology, and phonetics. Students will also be exposed to basic grammar and vocabulary and cultural facets of Hispanic cultures in Europe and the Americas.
