In this course we are going to be working on developing and honing the fundamentals of fiction storytelling. These include the Six Traits of Writing: Ideas & Content, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, and Convention. We will also develop the skills of plot building, description enhancing, and character development. Students can work in a variety of writing media, including poems, short stories, novels, plays, screenplays, flash fiction, comic books, video game arcs, songs, etc.

Classes will begin with readings from great examples of writing and from students' work--where feedback will always be positive and constructive. Optional prompts will be given and guidance offered to students working on their own projects.
