Founding a Student Government

1st Module: The first module of Founding a Student Government is centered around understanding the basic principles of government and politics. We will examine various political and governing systems and evaluate their unique characteristics. The includes both theoretical learning about governing systems and applied learning by contacting other schools that have set up student governments.

2nd Module: We will commence our second module by assessing the wants and needs of the student body and school at large. This module will utilize the surveying and collecting of data on the Bridges community in an effort to clarify the vision of our student government. Then, taking into account the data and feedback, we will craft a governing system that the student body votes to approve. This will also include meetings with the administration for proposals and approval.

3rd Module: We will open our third module by establishing the recently approved government. While getting the governing system up and running, we will be including both the administration, students, and faculty in the process of establishing new practices and creating new avenues for progress and communication. This module will also include reflection, general/self-assessment, and amending our system.
