LTG in the Art Room
Utilizing the Bridgehampton School NYSED Learning Technology Grant (LTG) Project 2025-2027. Students will be utilizing Padlet, Book Creator, AR, and Chat GPT to use in creation of art, construction of portfolio, and exploration of AI in the art world.
Year 2, students have acquired the foundational skill set utilizing online portfolios and developing deeper into real-world roles as designers, documenters, and problem-solvers, creating multimedia projects that connect with both the arts and core academic subjects. We're blending the best of traditional teaching with powerful new tools like AI and augmented reality to make learning more engaging, relevant, and fun for all students.
This course explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into visual arts education, empowering educators and students to expand creative possibilities while developing critical digital literacy skills. Participants will examine how AI tools—such as image generators, design assistants, and creative coding platforms—can be used to inspire artistic exploration, support diverse learners, and enhance traditional art practices.
Through hands-on projects and reflective discussions, students learned to use AI as both a creative collaborator and a subject of artistic inquiry. The course emphasizes thoughtful and responsible use of emerging technologies in the art room.
