LTG in Second Grade
I’m Ms. Candelaria, and I’m excited for a year filled with curiosity, creativity, and collaboration! In our classroom, we’ll use technology responsibly, dive into project-based learning, and build independence as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and friends.
EXPLORING OUR TRUE COLORS 🎨
In this project, students explored identity through the lens of personality and creativity. After taking a personality test, each student selected traits that best described who they are and matched those traits with meaningful colors. They then created bracelets to represent their chosen colors and designed tie-dye self-portraits that are now proudly displayed in the hallway.
Getting to know students and embracing their identities is an essential part of building a strong classroom community. When children see their personalities, interests, and strengths valued, they feel a deeper sense of belonging and confidence. This project not only celebrated individuality but also highlighted how our unique “true colors” come together to brighten our classroom family.
Together our true colors shine even brighter. Together is the best place to be!
Wearing our true colors. Each bracelet represents our unique traits that make us who we are.
