rThis year students will be using technology to make observations and record data. Students will help set up a video recording device in the garden to capture the number and diversity of pollinators visiting our plants.

Students found a swallowtail caterpillar in our garden. What will it look like as a butterfly?....
IMG_0011.MOVStudents created a “Buzzing Bee" with popsicle sticks and a rubber band. This helped 1st graders understand sound and vibrations through a fun, hands-on experience.
IMG_0009.MOVIMG_0010.MOV1st graders spin the Bee, the rubber band vibrates rapidly, creating a buzzing sound similar to a bee. Students can both hear the sound and feel the vibrations, helping them make the connection that sound is created by moving vibrations.
IMG_0007.MOVIMG_9780.MOVIMG_9774.MOV2nd graders are testing different bubble solutions. Which amount of dish soap makes the biggest bubbles: 1 drop, 1 tablespoon, or 3 tablespoons mixed with 1 cup of water?
IMG_0176 (1).MOV3rd grader students design and build model homes, then test them to see how well they stay dry and protect against different types of “weather”.
3rd graders explored force and motion by creating balloon rockets using balloons, straws, tape, and string. Students tested how the air released from the balloon created a pushing force that sent their rockets zooming across the classroom while learning about Newton’s Laws of Motion.
IMG_9300.MOV1st and 2nd graders wrapped a lima bean inside a wet paper towel & plastic bag to see what happens under the soil.
IMG_0185.MOV4th graders learn that mixing vinegar and baking soda creates gas, which causes the fizzing and bubbling.
Kindergardeners learn that mixing vinegar and baking soda makes bubbles and that changing the amount of vinegar changes the reaction.
1st & 2nd graders learned about flower parts using Padlet to collaboate and share their ideas.
