Here is a timeline of the projects I plan to work on this school year!
Family French Podcast
During their French language class, students were tasked with a creative and interactive project that went beyond simple vocabulary memorization. The main objective was to craft a Google Slides presentation detailing a real or fictional family, using their acquired French writing and grammar skills. This involved not only constructing sentences about each family member but also paying close attention to grammatical structures, including adjective agreement and verb conjugations.
Once the digital family portraits were complete, the project took a more communicative turn. Students were paired with a classmate for an oral presentation component, a key step in practicing their spoken French in a real-world, conversational context. The interview was structured as an exchange where one student became the "interviewer," posing questions in French about the family members depicted in the Google Slides. The other student, acting as the "presenter," responded to these questions, elaborating on the slides to describe the age, appearance, and personality of their family members. This conversational element transformed the static project into a dynamic and engaging exercise, enabling students to demonstrate their comprehension and fluency in a more authentic setting.
