Sneaker Drive!
The Hampton Library is thrilled to be a part of the Bridgehampton Half-Marathon + 5K on Saturday, May 7th by running a Sneaker Drive fundraiser!
We’re asking you to reach into your closets and donate gently worn, used, or new sneakers of all sizes to our collection locations:
The Beebe Windmill on corner of Ocean Road & Hildreth Ave
(race start/finish point):
Friday, May 6th from 5:30-7:00pm
Saturday, May 7th from 7:00am to finish of Bridgehampton Half-Marathon + 5K
The Hampton Library at 2478 Main Street in Bridgehampton:
Friday and Saturday 9:30am-5:30pm
Donated sneakers will be recycled by GotSneakers, a social enterprise committed to environmental sustainability, who will issue funds to benefit the Hampton Library.
This will greatly help us continue to meet the ever changing needs of our diverse community with everything we strive to offer: robust book collections, innovative programs for all ages, literacy initiatives, outreach events, free museum passes, passport services, quiet work spaces, up-to-date research databases, current technology, and much, much more!
We know that most people have extra sneakers in their closets they would like to donate rather than throw away. By doing so, you’ll help raise money for the Hampton Library AND help the environment by keeping discarded sneakers out of landfills. It’s a win-win for everyone!
We wish all the runners a safe, fun event, and thank the Bridgehampton Half-Marathon + 5K organizers for their support of the Hampton Library!

The Bridgehampton Parent Teacher Organization organizes special events for our school and assists those in need in our community. Membership dues and fundraisers benefit all Bridgehampton School students from Pre K through 12th grade. The PTO plans and hosts events like the Scholastic Book Fair, school pictures, Teacher Appreciation Breakfast and all-school BBQs that bring together students, parents and teachers for a communal meal. We enrich the school experience for students by providing scholarships, treats, entertainment, books and prizes.
