Second Grade Cohort Two is working on their museum exhibits! They’ve become such experts at reading nonfiction that they are preparing a museum exhibit. They will be displaying their exhibits in a “museum” to teach their friends all about their topics- USA, volcanoes, sharks, bees, food, the ocean and spiders.
Kindergarten cohort 1 explored the needs of plants and learned that they need water to survive. They used food coloring in the water to observe how the color traveled up the stem and changed the flower color.
Students in Kindergarten Cohort 2 are getting into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day by listening to read-alouds of stories such as “Ten Lucky Leprechauns” and learning how to draw a leprechaun! The students carefully listened to and followed along with step-by-step directions in order to draw the outline of their leprechaun before adding color to bring them to life.
Students in Kindergarten Cohort 2 are preparing for St. Patrick’s Day next week by creating “Leprechaun Lookers.” Next week they will use these as they hunt for leprechauns and gold!
