November Is Epilepsy Awareness Month!!!

This year, The Epilepsy Foundation is promoting seizure first aid. They are using the hashtag #staysafeside in hopes that these 3 simple words will stick with people. Should you ever witness a seizure you will know to: stay with the person keep the safe and turn them on their side (if possible). Epilepsy can affect anyone. Each year 150,00 people are diagnosed with epilepsy. 1 in 10 people will have a seizure in their lifetime, and 1 in 26 will develop some form of epilepsy.

Some additional info on Epilepsy Awareness; the color representing epilepsy awareness is purple. For rare diseases the zebra stripe is used instead of a solid color. This is because Zebraś are rare animals. A purple zebra stripe is used to represent LGS awareness, because LGS is a rare form of epilepsy. Nov 1st is World LGS Day.

Make a difference in the Bridgehampton School Community.

Join the Bridgehampton School PTO today!

The Bridgehampton Parent Teacher Organization organizes special events for our school and assists those in need in our community. Membership dues and fundraisers benefit all Bridgehampton School students from Pre K through 12th grade. The PTO plans and hosts events like the Scholastic Book Fair, school pictures, Teacher Appreciation Breakfast and all-school BBQs that bring together students, parents and teachers for a communal meal. We enrich the school experience for students by providing scholarships, treats, entertainment, books and prizes.

PTO meetings are a great way to get to know other parents and teachers while working together to make a positive impact. Get involved today by contributing your ideas, talents, and time to help the PTO continue to enhance the Bridgehampton School community.

Suggested donation: $20 for the year, but any amount is appreciated!
