On April 29th, Commissioner Jeffrey Riley of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released a document entitled "Strengthening Our Remote Learning Experience: Guidance for Massachusetts Districts and Schools." In this guidance, DESE encouraged school districts to move forward with new learning with a focus on prerequisite content standards that are critical for success in the next grade. Below are the documents outlining which standards the state chose in each of the four major content areas (English Language Arts, Math, Science, and History and Social Studies). Your child may now be learning new material that wasn't covered before the period of school closure based on the state recommendations.
